Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder that primarily affects the brain and causes a decline in memory, thinking, and other cognitive abilities. This section is inspired by Chengzi’s family experience with Alzheimer’s disease. Through a series of clear, engaging videos, Chengzi explores the main symptoms, how the disease is diagnosed (including self-assessment tools), the underlying brain changes, and current treatment options. Whether you’re curious, concerned, or caring for a loved one, this is a place to learn and connect.

Depression

Depression affects nearly 5% of adults worldwide—and 8% in the U.S. In this section, Dr. Chengzi starts with Norwegian Wood to explore what depression feels like, how it's diagnosed, and how it differs from similar conditions. You'll also learn about treatments—from talk therapy and medications to ECT, TMS, ketamine, and AI tools—brought to life through scenes from famous films.

Kidney Transplants

A kidney transplant is the most effective treatment for patients with end-stage kidney disease. But did you know it took scientists over a century of trial and error to achieve the first successful human kidney transplant? The journey was filled with challenges—from mastering the surgical techniques to overcoming the body’s immune rejection of a foreign organ. Even after that historic breakthrough, the battle didn’t end. Researchers and doctors have ince tackled new hurdles: how to preserve donor kidneys effectively, how to make the most of every donated organ, how to fight the global black market for kidneys, and how to address the ongoing organ shortage—including bold explorations into xenotransplantation.

Sports Injury

Our muscles and joints keep us moving every single day, yet we often don’t appreciate how important they are - until an injury reminds us. Even a small problem can turn simple daily activities into painful challenges.

This playlist explores common muscle and joint injuries, how they happen, and what you can do to prevent them. You’ll also learn practical recovery strategies. including physical therapy, stretching, medications, heat and cold therapy, and healthy rehabilitation habits.

Most importantly, remember that healing takes time. Be patient with your body, follow a consistent recovery plan, and don’t give up. With proper care and persistence, most injuries can improve, helping you return to the activities you love.

Cancer

Cancer has haunted humanity for thousands of years. The earliest known descriptions of cancer date back to ancient Egypt more than 3,000 years ago, when surgeons attempted to remove breast tumors with the limited knowledge and tools available at the time.

For most of human history, however, we had very few weapons against this disease. We didn’t know what cancer was, how it developed, or why it spread. Everything began to change with a series of scientific breakthroughs—from the discovery of X-rays in 1895 and the birth of modern radiotherapy, to the emergence of chemotherapy in the mid - 20th century, followed by revolutionary advances in molecular biology, genetics, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and precision medicine.

This playlist takes you on a journey through the history of cancer, explaining how our understanding of the disease has evolved and how each major breakthrough has transformed cancer treatment. You'll learn not only what today’s therapies are, but also why they work and how scientists developed them.

Although many cancers remain challenging to cure, the outlook has never been brighter. Today, more people are surviving cancer than at any other time in history, and with every new discovery, we move one step closer to turning more cancers into preventable, treatable, and even curable diseases.
